My journey

About the author
Some people find their voice in the quiet — Amethyst A. Nelson-Preston found hers in the storm. From the time she was a teenager navigating the difficulties of life with her stepfather, Amethyst turned to the one thing that never let her down — writing. Every emotion, every struggle, every triumph found its way onto the page. Decades later, that habit has grown into a body of work spanning more than 40 unpublished books, each one a testament to a life fully lived and deeply felt.

A path of care and empathy
Amethyst's journey has been anything but ordinary. As a Registered Nurse, she traveled across the United States, bringing care and compassion to communities far from home. As a mental health counselor, she has sat with people in their darkest moments and helped guide them back toward the light. She knows what pain looks like — not just clinically, but personally.

From personal trials to powerful words
She has faced heartbreak that few can imagine. The dream of becoming a mother through foster care was taken from her when the process was disrupted and adoption was no longer possible. She has sat beside her husband's hospital bed, praying he would make it through. And through every one of those moments — the grief, the fear, the uncertainty — she wrote.
"Your story is not over yet."
A message from Amethyst A. Nelson-Preston
"When I sit down to write, I am thinking about you — the person who will one day hold these pages and wonder if anyone truly understands what they are carrying. I hope you take away strength, hope, healing, and connection from my words. Whatever chapter you are in right now, the painful one, the confusing one, the one where you cannot see what comes next is not the final chapter. There is more."
